The MC33039 is a high-performance closed-loop speed control adapter ideal for brushless DC motor control systems. Once implemented, precise speed adjustments can be made without the need for magnetic or optical tachometers. The device includes three input buffers each with hysteresis for noise immunity, three digital edge detectors, programmable monostables, and internal shunt regulators. An inverter output is also included for use in systems requiring sensor phase inversion. Although this device is primarily used in the MC33035 brushless motor controller, it can also be used cost-effectively in many other closed-loop speed control applications.
