Ideal for electronic assemblies or subsystems requiring minimal capacitive loading. These devices are suitable for protecting systems with higher data and clock rates, or circuits that require low capacitive loading. Each ESD channel consists of a pair of series diodes that divert positive or negative ESD current pulses to the positive (VP) or negative (VN) supply rail. A Zener diode is embedded between VP and VN, which has two advantages. First, it protects the VCC rail from ESD spikes; second, bypass capacitors are no longer required to absorb positive ESD spikes to ground. According to the IEC 61000-4-2 standard, the CM1213 is protected against ESD pulses up to ±8kV.
