The NCP1340 is a highly integrated quasi-resonant flyback controller for designing high performance off-line power converters. The NCP1340 has an integrated active X2 capacitor discharge function, which can achieve a no-load power consumption of less than 30 mW. The quasi-resonant current mode flyback stage features a proprietary valley lockout circuit that ensures stable valley switching. The system operates down to the 6th valley and transitions to frequency foldback mode to reduce switching losses. As the load decreases further, the NCP1340 enters silence skip mode to manage power delivery. To help ensure converter robustness, the NCP1340 implements several key protection features such as internal under-voltage detection, non-dissipative over-power protection (OPP) that guarantees a constant maximum output power at any input voltage, a lockout via a dedicated pin Stored overvoltage and NTC-ready high-temperature protection, along with line removal detection, safely discharges the X2 capacitor when the line is removed.

The FSL206MR integrates a Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) controller and SenseFET and is specifically designed for high-performance offline switch-mode power supplies (SMPS) with minimal external parts count. The device integrates a high-voltage power regulator, combining an avalanche-rugged SenseFET with a current-mode PWM control. An internal high voltage startup switch and Burst Mode operation with very low operating current reduce power loss in standby mode. Therefore, at an input voltage of 265VAC, a power loss of 150mW can be achieved without a bias winding, 25mW (FSL206MR) or 30mW (FSL206MRBN) with a bias winding and no load.
