The NCP1587 and NCP1587A are low-cost PWM controllers that operate from 5V to 12V. These devices are capable of generating output voltages as low as 0.8V. These 8-pin devices offer the best level of integration, reducing power supply size and cost. The NCP1587 and NCP1587A offer a 1A gate driver design and internally set 275kHz (NCP1587) and 200kHz (NCP1587A) oscillators. Other energy-efficient features of this gate driver include adaptive non-overlapping circuitry. The NCP1587 and NCP1587A also incorporate an externally compensated error amplifier and capacitor-programmable soft-start. Protection features include programmable short-circuit protection and undervoltage lockout.
