The NCV8182C is a monolithically integrated low-leakage tracking regulator for an adjustable buffered output voltage that closely tracks a reference input. The output supplies up to 250 mA and can be configured to be higher, lower or equal to the reference voltage. The device can operate over a wide range of input and VREF/EN voltages while still maintaining excellent DC characteristics. The NCV8182C is protected against conditions such as reverse battery, short circuit and thermal runaway. The device is also tolerant to load dump transients and reverse polarity transient input voltages. Therefore it is very suitable for automotive environment. The VREF/EN lead serves two purposes. This device is used to provide the input voltage as an output reference and can also be pulled low to put the device in sleep mode.
